My science fiction
I've written numerous short stories, mostly science fiction and fantasy, as well as two novels. Red Dust and Bones is a hard-science-fiction mystery and thriller set against humanity's first outpost on Mars. Ixinia takes a very different direction, combining science fiction, fantasy, adventure, and humor.

Humanity's first outpost on Mars sends a desperate call for help. Then it goes silent.
Pilot John Hellman never expected to return to Mars. But when Glenn Station suddenly stops communicating, he joins the rescue mission racing across millions of miles to discover what went wrong and bring survivors home.
Before they even reach the red planet, suspicious accidents begin crippling the mission. Someone—or something—seems determined to stop them.
When John and his crewmates finally reach Glenn Station, they find a mystery more terrifying than they imagined. Peculiar artifacts hidden beneath the Martian surface hint that the rescuers themselves are in deadly danger.
Back on Earth, John's wife Marie is studying soil samples brought home by an earlier expedition. Her experiments point toward an extraordinary possibility: life once existed on Mars, and it may still be there, hidden and waiting to be reawakened.
But scientific discovery has become entangled with ruthless political ambition. As Marie gets closer to the truth, she discovers that some people will do almost anything to stop her.
Working on separate planets, John and Marie pursue answers to the same mystery. What they discover could change humanity's understanding of life itself. It could also cost them their lives.

Ixinia
Mallory Milton Smith, small-time freight hauler and intergalactic cab driver, takes a job transporting a trio of ugly, smelly Ixinians (Ickies to him) to their home on the far side of the galaxy.
